(Tokyo 2020) The Olympics tennis tournament attracts the world’s top stars. To compete in singles events, athletes must be ranked among the top 56 players in the world. Tennis appeared at the first Olympic Games in 1896 but was dropped after Paris 1924. Tennis returned 64 years later at Seoul 1988.
