Yora Masao

Born in 1957. Began his journalistic career with the Mainichi Shimbun in 1981. In 1989, he was promoted to sub-editor of the paper’s political section in its Tokyo head office. In 2004, became an editorial writer, and later assumed the post of deputy head of the editorial committee. A dedicated member of the Mainichi editorial team since 2014, penning editorials in addition to his own political column in the paper’s evening edition. Has also been a visiting lecturer at Waseda University, and is a regular on TBS television and radio. He is the author of several books including Yora seidan (Yora’s Political Talk).
