Suzuki NobuhiroSUZUKI Nobuhiro

Professor at the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Tokyo. President of the nonprofit organization Nō no Mirai Netto (Future of Farming Network). Born in Mie Prefecture in 1958. Earned an agriculture degree at the University of Tokyo in 1982. Worked at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries and as a professor at Kyūshū University before starting his present position in 2006. Visiting professor at Cornell University from 1998 to 2010. Specializes in agricultural economics and international trade theory. Works include Shoku no sensō (Food Wars), Akumu no shokutaku (Nightmare Dining Table), and Nōgyō shōmetsu: Nōsei no shippai ga maneku kokka sonbō no kiki (Agricultural Extinction: The National Existential Crisis Brought on by Agricultural Policies).
