Sportswriter. Born in Iwate Prefecture in 1974. Worked as a magazine editor before going freelance. Writes mainly about baseball. He has covered Ohtani Shōhei for over a decade, starting when the star was a 15-year-old player at Hanamaki Higashi High School. Works include Michi hiraku, umi wataru Ohtani Shōhei no sugao (A Candid Look at Ohtani Shōhei) and Akiramenai machi, Ishinomaki, Sono chikara ni oretachi wa naru (Unsinkable Ishinomaki: The People Behind the Town’s Recovery).
