Ryan Shaldjian Morrison
Literary translator and scholar of Japanese literature. Tenured lecturer at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies. Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, he received MAs in Japanese literature from Arizona State University and Sophia University (Tokyo) and his PhD from the University of Tokyo. He has translated works by Ishikawa Jun, Takahashi Gen’ichirō, and others. Author of the forthcoming Writing Against Realism: Ishikawa Jun and the Case Against Modern Japanese Literature and translator of Nakanishi Susumu’s The Japanese Linguistic Landscape: Reflections on Quintessential Words.
