Niwa Masayoshi

US-based sportswriter. Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1967, he earned a degree in economics from Rikkyō University before taking a job with a publishing house. Left for the United States in 1995 and earned a sports management degree from Indiana State University. After moving to Seattle, covered the local pro baseball and basketball scenes, writing columns and articles for various publications. Author of works including Mejā Rīgu bijinesu no uragawa (Behind the Scenes of the Major League Baseball Business) and Ichirō fīrudo: Yakyū o koeta jinsei tetsugaku (Ichiro’s Field: A Philosophy Going Beyond Baseball).
