Nagahata Yoshiyuki
Nature photographer and environmental journalist. Born in Hyōgo Prefecture in 1973. Completed his master’s degree in agriculture at Shinshū University. Conducts surveys and photographic expeditions from a base in Yamagata Prefecture. While working to preserve endangered species, explores ways to pass satoyama knowledge to the next generation and establish systems involving young people. Works include Satoyama kiki (The Satoyama Crisis), Ōtsunami no ato no ikimonotachi (Living Creatures After the Great Tsunami), and Kyodai tsunami wa seitaikei o dō kaeta ka (How Did the Great Tsunami Transform Ecosystems?).
