Masuda Masafumi

Author. Born 1960 in Osaka Prefecture. Writings include Hatenaki katsubō (Endless Craving), Eshi no tamashii (The Soul of the Painter), and Kidai no hon’ya Tsutaya Jūzaburō (The Extraordinary Bookseller Tsutaya Jūzaburō). An authority on sake, he has also written a number of books on the subject, including Umai nihonshu o tsukuru hitotachi (The People Who Make Tasty Sake). His new novel, S.O.P. Ōsaka sento purojekuto—Shichi nin no kettai na nakamatachi (SOP: The Project to Relocate the Capital to Osaka and the Odd Group of Seven), will be published this autumn.
