Professor of human development at Tōkai University. Specializes in international labor migration and related issues. Author of Intarakutibu zemināru: Atarashii tabunka shakai ron (A New Theory of Multicultural Society: An Interactive Course) and coauthor of Kiro ni tatsu Ajia keizai: Bei-Chū tairitsu to korona ka e no taiō (Asia’s Economy at the Crossroads: The Sino-American Standoff and the COVID-19 Pandemic), among other works. Serves as a subcommittee member of the Labor Policy Council of Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare.
