Maekawa Yōichirō MAEKAWA Yōichirō
Journalist focusing on shinise, or long lasting businesses, visiting professor at Kōchi University of Technology, and co-head of the Shinise Studies Association. Born in Osaka in 1944. Graduated from Kobe University Graduate School of Management in 1967; that same year joined Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. (now Panasonic) where he worked as head of the management planning office, head of the e-net business division, and managing director. In 2007, began teaching at Kansai Gaidai University, the University of Marketing and Distribution Sciences, and Osaka University of Commerce. Specializes in entrepreneurial studies in the field of business management theory, and in business history, particularly shinise studies. Member of the Academic Association for Organizational Science, among other scholarly organizations. Author of Naze ano kaisha wa 100 nen mo hanjō shite iru no ka?(How Can That Business Thrive for Over 100 Years?), editor of Karaoke shinkaron (Theory of Evolution of Karaoke), and coeditor of Shinise gaku no kyōkasho (Textbook of Shinise Studies).
