    Koshikakezawa Mai

    After earning a degree from the Tokyo University of the Arts, completed her graduate studies at the same school, earning a PhD in musicology. While studying, she won the Ataka Prize, the Acanthus Music Prize, and the Dōseikai Prize. From 2011 to 2013, she studied at Leipzig University as a scholarship student through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Currently, she is a part-time lecturer at educational institutions including Shōwa University of Music, Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, and Musashino Academia Musicae. Director of the Beethovenkreis Japan, a group dedicated to sharing the composer’s music. Works include Bētōvuen to barokku ongaku: Gakusei wa senjin kara nani o mananda ka (Beethoven and Baroque Music: What the Master Musician Learned from His Predecessors) and Japanese translations of books including Barthold Kuijken’s The Notation Is Not the Music: Reflections on Early Music Practice and Performance.
