Kawanishi Hideya

Associate professor at Nagoya University. Born in 1977. Earned his PhD in history at Nagoya University. In recent years, he has been active in the media as a critic and commentator on Japan’s emperor system. Previously taught at Kyoto University and Kobe College. His books include Heisei no tennō to sengo Nihon (The Heisei Emperor and Postwar Japan) and Kindai tennōsei kara shōchō tennōsei e (From the Early Modern Emperor System to the Emperor as a Symbol).
