Worked for Kyōdō News from 1982 to 2019, rising to positions including chief of the Economic News Department and chief of the Editorial Bureau. Author of Okinawa o meguru kotoba tachi (Words Concerning Okinawa) and Okinawa 50-nen no yūutsu (A Half-Century of Okinawan Sorrow). In October 2024, published Itan: Kisha tachi wa naze sore o kaita no ka (Plumbing the Reasons Behind Reporters’ “Heretical” Coverage).
