Haga Hinata

Photographer of festivals in Japan and around the world. Born in 1956, he is the head of the Haga Library, an archive of photographs and materials related to festivals and folk performing arts. Member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society, the Japan Travel Writers’ Association, and the Japan Folk Performing Arts Association. Has had a series featured in Weekly Asahi Encyclopedia: Japanese Festivals and has published numerous books, including Shireba shiruhodo omoshiroi! Nihon no matsuri dai-zukan (Knowledge is Fun! An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Japanese Festivals), for which he served as supervising editor.
