    Fujisaki Ichirō

    Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1947. Japan’s ambassador. Joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1969, serving as director general of the North American Affairs Bureau (1999–2002). Japan’s ambassador to various international missions and to the United States (2008–12). Also served as president of the America-Japan Society and the Nakasone Peace Institute. Author of Mada ma ni au: Moto chū-Bei taishi no okimiyage (It’s Not Too Late: Advice for the Next Generation from a Former Ambassador to America).
