Glimpses of a Glittering North: Mizukoshi Takeshi’s Hokkaidō Photography

Now in his eighties, Mizukoshi Takeshi is one of Japan’s most celebrated nature photographers. He moved from Nagano to Hokkaidō in 1988; since then he has made capturing the nature of Japan’s northernmost prefecture on film his life’s work. In this series we explore his Hokkaidō photographs in categories ranging from the ocean and mountains to the flora and fauna of the wild north.
