Spotlight on Hamadōri: the Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework

The Hamadōri area along the Pacific coast of Fukushima Prefecture was devastated by the triple disaster set in motion on March 11, 2011. In rebuilding itself, the region has emerged as a hotbed of cutting-edge technology in fields like robotics and drones. Core to this effort is the Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework, a national project that aims to restore industry to the area. In this series we look at the effects the initiative is having in Hamadōri and further afield.
