Yabuuchi SatoshiYABUUCHI Satoshi
Born in 1953. Sculptor, vice president of the Tokyo University of the Arts, and a teacher in its Graduate School of Conservation. Using unique techniques that draw on classical techniques research and his experience of restoring Buddhist statues, creates works expressing the Buddhist world view and the spiritual world of the Japanese. He is involved in Buddhist statue research and various restoration projects. He is also known for being the creator of Sento-kun, the official Buddha-boy Nara mascot created to commemorate the 1,300th anniversary of Heijō-kyō.
