Professor in the Department of Science at Ibaraki University’s Graduate School of Science and Engineering. Researched geological disposal of radioactive waste at Hokkaidō University, then studied safe handling of tritium nuclear reactor fuel at the University of Toyama before working on research into safe tritium handling and tritium wastewater treatment methods. Member of the Joint Special Design Team for Fusion DEMO and expert panel member for the ALPS Treated Water Marine Monitoring Information.
