Taniguchi Yoshimitsu

Professor at Akita Prefectural University, where his research focuses on environmental sociology, organic farming, and the sociology of food and agriculture. Born in Tokyo in 1956; earned his doctorate at Sophia University. Alongside his academic career, works with local communities to find solutions to a diverse problems related to agriculture, food, and the environment. Chair of the Japanese Society of Organic Agriculture. Books include Chiiki no shoku o mamori sodateru (Protecting and Raising Local Food) and as co-editor, Shoku to nō no shakaigaku (The Sociology of Food and Agriculture).
