Shinji Isoya
President, Fukui Prefectural University. Holds a PhD in landscaping and agriculture. Born in Kyoto in 1944. He lectured at Tokyo University of Agriculture and served as president of the institution prior to accepting his current post in 2016. Studied under Uehara Keiji, one of the planners of the Meiji Shrine forest, and was chairman of a committee that surveyed the environment of the shrine grounds. Works include Nihon no teien (Japanese Gardens) and Gurīn eko raifu (Green Eco Living).
