Sano Shin’ichi
Born in 1947 in Tokyo. Graduated from Waseda University with a degree in literature. After working in the publishing industry and as a journalist for business publications, he became a freelance journalist. Gained attention in 1981 for a series of articles for the magazine Shūkan Bunshun titled “Dokyumento Nippon no sei” (Documenting Sex in Japan). Other influential works include Tabisuru kyojin (Traveling Giants; winner of the Ōya Sōichi Nonfiction Prize). His book Tōden OL satsujin jiken (Murder Case of the Female TEPCO Employee) contributed to debate over the guilt or innocence of the accused.
