Ōtani Tatsuya

Freelance journalist. After finishing university, worked as a research engineer at an electronics manufacturer before joining the editing team of leading automotive magazine Car Graphic in 1990, eventually becoming deputy editor in chief. Since leaving Car Graphic in 2010 to go freelance, he has written on everything from luxury vehicles to ultralight kei cars, as well as reporting extensively on motorsport and the latest technologies. In addition to being one of the judges of Car of the Year Japan 2021–22, Ōtani is a member of the Automobile Journalists Association of Japan and the Japan Motorsport Journalist Society.
