Okina Yuri

Chairperson of Japan Research Institute since 2018. Earned her BA in economics and MBA from Keiō University and her PhD in economics from Kyoto University. Joined the Bank of Japan in 1984. Joined JRI as senior economist in 1992. Served as a member of the Cabinet Secretariat’s Planning Meeting on a Social Security System Oriented to All Generations and its Council of New Form of Capitalism Realization. Has also chaired the Choosing the Future 2.0 council (Cabinet Office) and was recently appointed to head up the Government Tax Commission. Publications include Kin’yū kiki to purūdensu seisaku (Financial Crisis and Prudential Policy).
