Okabe Noburu
Joined the Sankei Shimbun in 1981 after earning his sociology degree from Rikkyō University. As a reporter for the city desk, he covered the Metropolitan Police Department and the National Tax Agency before going to the United States to study at Duke University and the Weatherhead East Asian Institute of Columbia University. After working on the foreign news desk, he served as Moscow bureau chief, member of the Tokyo head office editorial board, and London bureau chief. He is currently an editorial writer for the newspaper. His publications include Kieta Yaruta mitsuyaku kinkyūden (The Vanished Cable on the Secret Yalta Agreement), which earned him the Yamamoto Shichihei Prize, Chōhō no kamisama to yobareta otoko (The Man Called the God of Intelligence), Igirisu kaitai, EU hōraku, Roshia taitō (The Breakup of Britain, Fall of the EU, and Rise of Russia), and Igirisu no shippai (Britain’s Setback).
