Senior commentator at Fuji TV. Born in Kyoto in 1958. Graduated from Waseda University with a degree in literature. Many years of experience in reporting on defense stories for television networks, having covered the 1999 Kosovo conflict from both Belgrade and NATO headquarters. Author of Misairu bōei (Missile Defense) and Higashi Ajia no gunji jōsei wa kore kara dō naru no ka (What Is the Future of the Military Situation in East Asia?) and co-author of Kenshō Nihon chakudan (Considering a Missile Attack on Japan).
