Nishikawa Takeomi

Director of the Yokohama Archives of History. Specializes in early modern and modern Japanese history. Born in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, in 1955. Completed his doctorate in history at Meiji University. Works include Perī raikō (Perry’s Arrival), Uraga bugyōsho (The Uraga Magistrate’s Office), and Kaikoku Nihon to Yokohama Chūkagai (The Opening of Japan and Yokohama Chinatown).
