Nagayama SatoshiNAGAYAMA Satoshi

Lead editor, Ōsumō Journal. Born in Tokyo in 1956. Earned his degree in economics from Sophia University. In 1986, began writing for the Nippon Sports Publishing magazine Home Run, and in the same year started reporting on sumō for the Yomiuri Shimbun monthly Ōsumō; he joined the staff there full-time in 1991 and remained until the publication closed in 2010. Has been in his current post at publisher Yomiuri Plus since 2017. Writes for a number of sumō-related publications. Author of Takanohana fushaku shinmyō, futatabi (Complete Devotion: A New Look at the Career of Takanohana), Anata no shiranai dohyō no oku (Beyond the Sumō Ring), and other works.
