Senior commentator, Jiji Press. Born in 1965 in Fukushima Prefecture. Joined the Political Affairs Department of Jiji Press after graduating from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Served as Moscow correspondent, Kanazawa Bureau chief, and political editor at Jiji before assuming his current position.
