Masuura Yukihito
Photographer, born in 1963. Traveled to France in 1981, where he worked under legendary photographer Guy Bourdin. Won the Salon d’automne Prize in 1987. Thirty-one of his works were added to the permanent collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (National Library of France) in 1988. His photographs of all of Michelangelo’s sculptures were exhibited at Florence’s Casa Buonarotti and the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. The Kami no Miya (Shrines of the Spirits) exhibition of his photos of the ritual reconstruction of Ise Jingū and Izumo Taisha has been shown in Japan and abroad. Has published photo collections including Genesis (2003), and Kami no miya: Ise Jingū, Izumo Taisha (Houses of the Gods: Ise Jingū and Izumo Taisha) and Kigen Origin: Munakata Sangū to Munakata Ichizoku (Origin: The Munakata Shrines and Clan) (both 2016).
