    Director, International Research and Cooperation, National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, specializing in migration policy. Received his master’s degree in social science from the University of California, Irvine, and his Ph.D in sociology from the University of Tokyo. Author of Kokusai rōdō idō nettowāku no naka no Nihon (Japan in the International Labor Migration Network), Imin ukeire to shakaiteki tōgō no riariti (The Realities of Migrant Acceptance and Social Integration), and other works. Korekawa is a member of the expert panel set up by the Ministry of Justice in December 2022 to draw up recommendations for Japan’s Technical Intern Training Program and Specified Skilled Worker system.
