Kawamura Minato
Literary critic. Born in 1951. Has taught Japanese literature at Dong-a University in Busan, South Korea, and Hōsei University, where he is now an honorary professor. Won the Hirabayashi Taiko Prize in 1995 for Nan’yō, Karafuto no Nihon bungaku (Japanese literature in the South Seas and Sakhalin) and the Itō Sei Prize in 2004 for Fudaraku: Kannon shinkō e no tabi (Potalaka: The Journey to Faith in Avalokitesvara). Other works include Murakami Haruki wa Nōberu shō o toreru no ka (Will Murakami Haruki Win the Nobel Prize?) and Genpatsu to genbaku (Nuclear Plants and Nuclear Bombing).
