Izumi Saburō

Nonfiction writer. Born in 1935. Traced the steps of the Iwakura Mission for eight years from 1976. Established the Iwakura Mission Society in 1996 for reading and researching the record of the voyage written by Kume Kunitake. Has written several books on the topic, including Iwakura shisetsudan: Hokori takaki otokotachi no monogatari (The Iwakura Mission: A Story of Proud Men).
