Ishii Kenji

Deputy president, library director, and professor of Shintō studies at Kokugakuin University. Specializes in religion and the sociology of religion. Born in Tokyo in 1954. Received his master’s degree in the history of religions and doctorate in religious studies from the University of Tokyo. Served as an assistant professor at the same institute and assistant at the Religious Affairs department within the Agency for Cultural Affairs before assuming his current post. Publications include Shibuyagaku (The Study of Shibuya).
