Economic journalist. Born in 1964. After graduating from Kyūshū University, went to work for a major electronics manufacturer for some years before joining the Asahi Shimbun in 1992. As a journalist, covered the business beat, primarily in the automotive and electronics sectors. Left the newspaper in 2004 and went back to school, earning his master’s degree in venture business theory from Osaka City University. Now an independent writer with a focus on business, particularly automobiles, and economic security issues. Author of Nissan vs. Gōn: Shihai to antō no 20 nen (Nissan vs. Carlos Ghosn: Twenty Years of Corporate Rule and Quiet Struggle), among other works.
