Imakawa Satoru

Member, Kesennuma City Assembly. Born in 1975 in Kesennuma, Miyagi Prefecture. Witnessed the tsunami of March 11, 2011, from the roof of a local fish market. Worked for the regional daily newspaper Sanriku Shinpō for 15 years before entering local politics in 2015 to help guide the recovery effort. Recipient of a 2015 Manifesto Award for his monthly reports on progress and problems in the reconstruction process.
