Hasegawa Shōichi

Nonfiction writer. Born in Tokyo in 1970, he graduated from Waseda University and worked for a publishing company before going independent in 2003. He is the author of numerous books about sports. A fan of Nakano Broadway since childhood, he currently lives in its residential tower. His books include Nakano Brōdouei monogatari (The Nakano Broadway Story) and Puro yakyū 12 kyūdan fan kurabu zenbu ni 20 nenkan nyūkai shite mita (Tales of a 20-Year Member of All 12 Japanese Pro Baseball Fan Clubs). In 2022–23, served as the human foil for Yakult Swallows mascot Tsubakurō on a sports news website’s “Tsubakurō Offers Life Advice” section.
