Gotō Itsurō

Journalist. Born in Toyama Prefecture in 1965. After graduating from Kanazawa University, joined the Mainichi Shimbun in 1990. There he worked at the Himeji branch office, the Wakayama branch office, the economy department of the Osaka head office, the economy department of the Tokyo head office, and then as the deputy manager of the economy department of the Osaka head office. He went on to be the deputy editor of the weekly magazine Economisuto, an editorial board member of the special reporting group, and an editorial board member of regional areas before retiring. Publications include Orinpikku manē daremo shiranai Tokyo gorin no uragawa (Olympic Money: The Unknown Dark Side of the Tokyo Olympics).
