Some 700,000 bright yellow cosmos plants are now blooming at Shōwa Kinen Park, which straddles the boundary between the cities of Tachikawa and Akishima in western Tokyo. Many people are visiting the park to admire and photograph the flowers. The cosmos plants here are of a variety called “Lemon Bright,” from the brilliant yellow hue of their blossoms. The height of the cosmos season at the park will continue through the end of September, and on Sunday, September 29, visitors will have the chance to pick flowers for themselves. (© Jiji.)
