Hiroi Yoshinori

Professor at the Kokoro Research Center, Kyoto University. Areas of expertise include public policy and the philosophy of science. Born 1961 in Okayama Prefecture. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, worked at the Ministry of Health and Welfare and as a professor at Chiba University , prior to starting his current role in 2016. Was also a visiting researcher at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2001–2002. Hiroi’s publications include Nihon no shakai hoshō (Social Security of Japan), which won the Japan Economist Award, and Komyuniti o toinaosu (Rethinking Community), which earned him the Osaragi Jirō Critics’ Award.
